2019 Junior Cyclocross Clinics

Juniors are invited to come out and learn new skills and fine-tune their current skills, where top coaches and local racers share and instruct all things cyclocross.

Details:

  • Due to scheduling conflicts with our Junior Cyclocross Camp we will only be running two clinics this year, Thursday, August 22nd and 29th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at – Alpenrose Dairy
  • Open to all Juniors race age 9-18
  • All ability levels welcome
  • Participation is FREE!

Please bring your bike, helmet, and water. Riders and parents will need to sign a release form at their first clinic, which will apply to all future clinics for the year. OBRA membership is required. Memberships can be purchased on site, or here: obra.org/membership/new.

2019 Junior Cyclocross Camp

Junior Racers age 13-18 are invited to join us for our Bend Endurance Academy Cyclocross Camp in Hood River August 11 – 14. We will focus on teamwork, skills, and techniques while reinforcing proper movement, discussing important topics in the classroom, and exploring the area on some long base-building group rides.

While no Cyclocross racing experience is necessary, we do require that participants:

  • Are ages 13-18
  • Are intermediate or experienced in Road, Mountain Bike or Track racing
  • Come to Camp well-rested with a good level of fitness
  • Must desire to improve skills and work hard!

This is a training camp with long rides and high cumulative workloads that will boost your fitness and confidence coming into the CX Season. We will specifically highlight ways to prepare for CX Nationals in Tacoma, WA in December.

Sunday, August 11:

  • Check-in between 4 – 6 PM
  • Dinner at 6:30 PM
  • Introductions, Overview, Goals
  • Classroom #1
  • Lights out 10 PM

Monday, August 12:

  • Late optional arrival between 7:00 – 8:00 AM
  • Breakfast 7:30
  • Skills Course & CX Technique Work
  • Lunch
  • Strength, Conditioning and Self-Care Session
  • Free Time / Games & Activities
  • Dinner 6:30
  • Classroom #2

Tuesday, August 13:

  • Breakfast 7:00 & Pack lunch
  • Group Longest Ride 8 – Noon (Mt. Hood area, lots of gravel roads)
  • Swim & Sack Lunch
  • Free Time / Games & Activities / Snacks
  • Strength, Conditioning and Self-Care Session
  • Classroom #3
  • Dinner
  • Ice Cream & Urban Freestyle Walking

Wednesday, August 14:

  • Breakfast 7:30
  • Mock Nationals Race Day with prep, warm-up, racing, cool-down.
  • Debriefing & Group Photo
  • Lunch 11:30
  • Depart between 1 – 2 PM

Cost is $250 and includes all food and transportation within the camp.

A week prior to camp we will send a packing list, outline the rides we want to do and name the assistant coaches.

2019 OBRA Junior Track Camp Recap

Thank you to all of the kids who came out to the 2019 OBRA Junior Track Camp. From all of the coaches and staff, we hope you had a great weekend of learning how to ride and race on the velodrome.
